He says, "It's news to me. It wouldn't surprise me if they wanted him but they would have plenty of hoops to jump through."

Ekland Slams 'Botoxed' Kidman

20 August 2008 5:10 AM, PDT

Veteran actress Britt Ekland has accused Nicole Kidman of compromising her career by using Botox.

Although Kidman has never admitted to using the facial-freezing treatment, former Bond girl Ekland is convinced that the Oscar-winner has resorted to cosmetic treatments in a bid to look more youthful.

And the 65-year-old insists that Kidman, 41, will not benefit if she is having the treatment.

Ekland says, "It's fatal when actresses use Botox. I remember seeing Cold Mountain, and it really looked to me like Nicole Kidman had been using it.

"Her face was neither sad nor glad - nor anything, she was just like a painted doll. I thought: 'Why would she do that?' "

Cusack Faces Backlash Over Newspaper Article

20 August 2008 5:10 AM, PDT

Actor John Cusack is facing a backlash over an article he wrote for a Chicago newspaper after readers accused the star of a string of embarrassing mistakes.

Cusack - who grew up in the city - published his first column in the Huffington Post Chicago on 14 August, but the article met with a frosty reception.

The column, written while the actor was working in Bangkok, focuses on Cusack's memories of the area and his love of the local baseball teams - the Cubs and the White Sox.

But readers have accused Cusack of misspelling the names of three Cubs players, as well as famed playwright Eugene O'Neill, and making a variety of factual errors.

Cusack also described in the piece how he took the "express train" to Wrigley Field, the Cubs' stadium - even though there has never been an express train service to the ground.

The High Fidelity star goes on to describe the poverty of his childhood, insisting he had to "scrape together $2.50" to go to a baseball game. But a source tells New York Post gossip column PageSix, "Cusack grew up in a massive house on Sheridan Road.

"It's slightly disingenuous to say he had to 'scrape' together $2.50. I'm thinking that wasn't an issue."

Lazenby Hits Back At Wife's 'Alcoholic' Claim

20 August 2008 5:10 AM, PDT

Latest: Former Bond star George Lazenby has hit back at his estranged wife after she labelled him an "abusive alcoholic" - insisting it was her drinking problem which blighted their marriage.

Tennis ace Pam Shriver is divorcing the actor after six years, and accused her husband of threatening to kill her, assaulting her in a drunken rage, and giving alcohol to their three children - all of which Lazenby has denied.

And the star has now hit back at his estranged spouse, accusing her of having a drink problem and being addicted to medication.

In a 25-page statement filed at a Los Angeles court, Lazenby insists Shriver also put their kids George, four; and twins Caitlin and Samuel, two, at risk by driving under the influence of drugs.

The papers read, "(She) consumes a cocktail of prescription painkillers, Ambien sleeping pills and rum or vodka each night and during the day. When I have expressed my grave concern to (her) about her combining Ambien with alcohol she flew into a rage and attempted to justify her addiction by claiming she has debilitating migraines and shoulder pain.

"She is in no condition to drive in the morning. I have seen her be drowsy and dizzy, with difficulties in co-ordination - I have warned on numerous occasions to refrain from transporting our children in the car when she is in such a state."

And the former 007 actor is adamant that her claims against him are false.

He adds, "It is ludicrous for (her) to claim that she is afraid of me. I am not a violent or aggressive person."

Crowe To Star As Hicks?

20 August 2008 5:10 AM, PDT

Russell Crowe is set to play late comedy legend Bill Hicks, according to reports.

The Gladiator star is lined up to portray the controversial funnyman, whose troubled life was cut short when he died of cancer in 1994, aged 32.

A source tells Britain's Daily Express newspaper, "Russell admires Hicks and is very keen to be involved in the project.

"Comedy has never been seen as Russell's strong point so this is an opportunity to change the public's perception of him.

"Like Hicks, Russell is very passionate and forthright with his views and isn't afraid to upset people if he thinks he's in the right. This could be an ideal role for him."

Voight Hits Out At Barr's Jolie-pitt Attack

20 August 2008 5:10 AM, PDT

Latest: Angelina Jolie's dad Jon Voight has blasted TV star Roseanne Barr for her "evil" attack on his daughter and her partner Brad Pitt.

In a posting on Barr's website, the comedienne apparently slammed the Hollywood couple for making millions while starring in "violent, psychopathic" movies - but only giving away a small part of their paycheques to charity.

The writer then took a swipe at the pair for not publicly pledging support for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, before adding: "Now go back to making your movies about women who love to handle big guns that shoot hundreds of people to death."

Voight is livid with the attack on his daughter - and claims Barr is suffering from the trauma of being abused as a child, reports Usmagazine.com.

He says, "We can never be surprised at what vile evil comes from the mouth of a confessed victim of child abuse at the hands of her own parents.

"(Roseanne's) parents responded to the accusation by going on the air and slating she is a psychopathic liar and her sister agreed."

Moore Reveals Secrets Of Bond Boat Stunt

20 August 2008 12:03 AM, PDT

In his upcoming memoir, My Word Is My Bond, the former 007 admits a spectacular smash scene in Live and Let Die was actually a terrifying stunt gone wrong.

He explains, "I did quite a few run-throughs to practice and, whilst banking on one such run, the engine cut out. I had no steering! I therefore continued in a straight line... directly into a wooden boat house."

Moore recalls he was thrown from the boat and cracked his teeth and twisted his knee as he hurtled to the ground.

He adds, "There I was, as a fearless 007, hobbling on a cane to my boat and then pretending to be indestructible for the cameras. Who says I can't act?"

Fox Ready To Be A Stepmum

19 August 2008 6:27 PM, PDT

Actress Megan Fox has become the ideal stepmother-to-be for fiance Brian Austin Green's son Kassius - she even feels guilty when she's on location.

The pretty 22 year old loves Green's six year old just like a mum, and can't stand it when she's forced to work away from home.

She explains, "Sometimes I get sad, because sometimes I'm out of town a lot. Brian works but he's always in town and I have to travel a lot, and sometimes that's hard, because it'll be weeks and weeks without seeing Cash (Kassius), and that's sad.

"Luckily he's used to it, because both of his parents are in the business, so he's used to always being in transit. And it's not so hard on him. But I feel guilty a lot."

Fox insists she's the disciplinarian at home - because her fiance feels bad about giving his son, whose mother is actress Vanessa Marcil, a hard time.

The Transformers star adds, "I was raised in the South and my mom was a strict disciplinarian... It's really easy for me to lay out the rules and make sure that the rules are followed constantly, but I think because he's from a home with divorced parents, it's hard for Brian to punish him (Kassius).

"He feels bad that Cash has to always go through the transition in switching homes."

And the health-conscious actress even has a method for de-stressing after hectic days on film sets.

She adds, '"I take melatonin to sleep. But I also have lavender oil all over the house, and if you put that under your nose, on your forehead, and I put it over my heart - it's just really relaxing. Something about that scent helps you to focus."
